Comments...
This block has now fallen into disrepair and is slated by the city for demolition. Mass. MOCA at one time considered it for acquisition as housing for their interns, but the cost of rehabilitation was considered to be too high.

Comments...
Elmo Demo still barbers at the end of the street -- not full time, but there every day from Tuesday to Saturday.

Comments...
Demolition began on July 5, 2001 and was approximately 50 percent complete at 10:30 AM, July 6.

Can you name the location?
Corner River and N. Holden Sts.

Comments...
My dad and mother moved there in the early 50's along with my youngest brother Francis and older sister Pearl. Parents were Leo and Marie Dubreuil, unfortunately they passed on in 1979 and 1981. Property was once owned by The Sullivan family from Church St.

Comments...
In my day,( 40's and 50's) that barber shop was St. Pierre's and he cut both men and women's hair...Little did he know that years later that would be the norm. I would also like to add, at that time, that apartment house was in very nice condition.

Can you name the location?
corner N. Holden, River and Bracewell

Comments...
I believe Mrs. Sullivan owned this block, in the 40's and 50's it was well maintained...then got in such disrepair, is was torn down.
