Man made swimming hole and must by law be drained annually and is desired re-filled in the spring. This allows any water weeds to be exposed and killed along with usual sanitation required. Lake Garfield in Monterey, Mass. also has to be drained and re-filled. This was the cause of the permanent closing of Brookbend Inn in Monterey as they did not re-fill one year and caused the closing of Summer Camps and business related cottage rentals were also badly affected. I know this for fact as I was the Inn Keeper at the time and the loss of revenue was catastrofic. An 80% decrease. J. P. Dubreuil. Posted: 09/27/2004 |
