The cement walls were added, by the Corps of Engineers, after the floods and huge water flows of 47/48 timeframe. I was standing on the Eagle St bridge when the old dry cleaners building next to it slid into the river. Scared, you bet. Posted: 02/25/2009 Comments... 48/49 FLOOD...I TOO,WAS STANDING ON THE EAGLE STREET BRIDGE WHEN THE BACK END OF PIETRI CLEANERS FELL INTO THE RIVER..LOTS OF FUR COATS WENT FLOATING DOWN THE RIVER.
