Cascades

We used to take our walks along the stream to the falls. You had to be careful though because the rocks were mossy and slippery. I remember that Scott Cole fell and was seriously injured there.

Didn't Judy Flood fall there too?

In my younger days, my friends and I would ski at Bernards (?) in the Notch. We would ski home through the woods which meant crossing Cascade brook. We would take our skis off, throw them across the brook and use the stones to cross. Then put our skis back on and continue, coming out at the top of Marion Avenue. In the summer, we would hike up again through the woods to go swimming in the brook. Of course we had to make our own dams which were frowned on, but we made some very good swimming holes. Those were the fun days.

Looks like Tunnel Brook coming from the Hoosac Tunnel on South Church Street in North Adams
