Posted: 05/13/2002 What was the Season? fall Can you name the location? Comments... Posted: 05/13/2002 Comments... This was a great place to camp out! There was a mobile home to the right of the bridge and a man named Charlie Thompson lived there and kinda took care of the camp. A nice man who all the boyscouts liked! Posted: 11/03/2003 Comments... Camp Decker was the place to go in the 40s. I remember so many times that I would rush around my Transcript paper route to get home and grab some canned peas etc and head for Decker with my friends. We heated the peas etc over the open fire, can and all. GREAT LIFE. A close friend of mine and I wanted to built a "dream cabin" in the open field next to Decker, to us that was the wilderness. He passed away this past year but would have loved to see this picture. Posted: 01/07/2005 |
