This was the boy scout camp for the North Adams troops used in the 1940s and 1950s. The troops each had cabins and a swimming pool was constructed to the left of this bridge.

This was a great place to camp out! There was a mobile home to the right of the bridge and a man named Charlie Thompson lived there and kinda took care of the camp. A nice man who all the boyscouts liked!

Camp Decker was the place to go in the 40s. I remember so many times that I would rush around my Transcript paper route to get home and grab some canned peas etc and head for Decker with my friends. We heated the peas etc over the open fire, can and all. GREAT LIFE. A close friend of mine and I wanted to built a "dream cabin" in the open field next to Decker, to us that was the wilderness. He passed away this past year but would have loved to see this picture.
