Late 40's early 50's before they started the flood control and urban renewal in early 50's.

I remember the Hoosick when it meandered slowly thru the city, actually it was beautiful until it rose and became a raging terror. As a young girl, I remember watching it with fasination as it swirled and twirled among the rocks, many times different colors from the dye dumped into it from the woolen mills.

this is definitely potter place on the right - river running down river street between eagle and holden st - lavalley oil company was across the street from this picture on eagle street
