My Dad Moe Van Steemburg was Chief Inspector For the Vermont Racing Commision. I and about eight others for the southern Vermont area were Inspectors

The race track put a lot of kids through college.Most of the mutual clerks worked full time jobs and went over there each night.I attended the 25th anniversary of the day when the "flats" left. Many jockies were there and spoke very well of the experience
