And yes Hooper was a fixture. Dedicating Saturday afternoon to the organization and development of one the finest youth sports programs the city of North Adams has ever known. The league had two divisions for boys grades 4-8 with a full slate of up to 8 games every week. Anyone who played basketball or was a fan of the sport during the period at one time or another visited the old St. Joseph Annex on Union Street to catch some of the games.
