I remember this team well. I played against them throughout my youth and in high school. Certainly Joe Nowak (14), Al Skrocki(31), and Captain Mike Dziadzio(42). Dziadzio and I attended St. Anselm's College togehter for 1 1/2 year and transferred to NASC after that. Although we(Drury) defeated them they did well in the Western Mass. tournament and as I recall they lost in overtime to Springfield Cathedral in the semi finals. (Cathedral went on to upset a previously undefeated Drury team (22-0) in the Western Mass. champioship game on March 14, 1970 by a score of 56-50).

This was the final AHS hoop team. The next year the school relocated and became Hoosac Valley High. But, the uniforms didn't have to change, because we were still the Hurricanes.

I remember Al Skrocki hitting a 20-footer to beat Holyoke Catholic in the Western Mass. quarterfinals that year. Holyoke's big man, John Grocholowski, had 31 points and 30 rebounds. (Looked it up) 30 rebounds! Unreal. But Adams teams were used to overcoming great individual performances over the years.
