this picture bring back memories growing up in the 60s and 70s.We had a good time going to the play ground. There was plenty of things to do.

This was taken some time in June, July or August when the City had a very well run summer schoolground program. I have the have the actual photograph which I cannot find at the present time. I would say its 1970 or 1971. The person above my cousin Alice right above her head is Dennis Tatro, also of North Adams who lived on Prospect Street, and who I belive still resides in North Adams. I lived at 33 Wesleyan St. at the time and my cousin Alice on Jackson Street. Alice is now married with 2 sons and resides in Oregon. The girl to the right of my cousin may be Nancy Morris, from Eagle Street, who actually married my brother David, although I need to confirm if its her.

i remeber going up to freeman when they had the costume constest,hat show, pet show and other fun shows. there was always thing to do when we went. also once a week there was arts &crafts to do.I remeber when they use to full up the pool to so we can cool off.Its to bad the kids now a days dont that kind of stuff.

In the 50's, I always loved going to Freeman in the summer. Dress up day, pet show day and decorating your bike, scooter or wagon. It was much fun to swing, climb the monkey bars, teeter and ride the round ride!
